NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Gemma Hayes’ “High & Low”

June 23, 2023 Albumism Staff

Nearly nine years since Gemma Hayes released her most recent studio album Bones + Longing in the fall of 2014, she has unveiled her new single “High & Low.” The plaintive acoustic track offers the first preview of the singer-songwriter-instrumentalist’s forthcoming sixth studio LP due later this year. “It’s such a buzz to send a song out into the world,” Hayes explains via a recent Twitter post.

In conjunction with the single’s arrival, Hayes will perform a pair of shows in her native Ireland this weekend with Lisa Hannigan and Paul Noonan joining her on the bill for both dates.

Enjoy the official video for “High & Low” below.
