Soul singer supreme Tanika Charles returns with a new project, hot on the heels of her 2022 album Papillon De Nuit. This time around an EP entitled The Union Sessions finds her in the studio demonstrating her vocal chops in a live setting. Before the EP’s release on July 26th comes lead single “Think of You” (Live in Studio), which is a revamped version of a song from her debut EP from 2010 and it is a gem.

Recorded in one afternoon, the EP exhibits the dynamic vocal powers that Charles possesses as no overdubs were used—just her wonderful voice and a band in perfect sync. An ode to thinking of past relationships without carrying the emotional baggage around that often goes with it, the song finds Charles delving deep into despair before emerging battered but not broken—ready to find love again.

With a month to wait until the whole EP bursts forth, take the time to revel in the glory of Tanika Charles live in the studio in the video below.
