On their third album, former Odd Future affiliates The Internet truly came into their own as one of the last Black bands in contemporary music. Each track is thick with punchy bass, sparkling keys, lively guitar licks, and breakbeat-worthy percussion. While musically notable for carrying the torch for classic funk and R&B, lead vocalist Syd is to be commended for finding her confidence and letting her slight-yet-effective instrument loose across the LP’s 12 tracks.
