Quietly seducing despite my initial skepticism, Interpol’s self-titled fourth studio album returned to the lavish dark drama that defined their masterful debut. After their big-label misstep that was Our Love to Admire (2007), the NYC-based quartet bounded back three years with a subtly intoxicating album full of delectably cool mystery and clandestine moments. For everything singer Paul Banks doesn’t explicitly say, the band conjure enough atmosphere to keep me craving.
