Of the five studio albums Taylor Swift made in the ‘10s, 1989 will always be the first one I return to because it’s her first “official” pop album. Crafting sleek songs with Swedish songwriting/producing legends Max Martin and Shellback (“Blank Space”), One Republic’s Ryan Tedder (“I Know Places”), and future Reputation and Lover collaborator Jack Antonoff (“Out Of The Woods”) gave the album its infectious spunk, blinding gloss, and ignited Swift’s red-hot career as a full-time pop star.
