Sophie Ellis-Bextor has unveiled her eighth studio album Perimenopop. The follow-up to 2023’s acclaimed HANA and her first album recorded for the famed Decca label, Perimenopop is preceded by five official singles in the form of “Freedom of the Night,” “Relentless Love,” “Vertigo,” “Taste” and “Dolce Vita.”

“It might be to do with the fact I’m in my mid-40s, but my girlfriends and I, we felt like all the algorithms have shifted towards what this chapter of our lives would bring and I find myself feeling really good in myself actually,” Ellis-Bextor explains to Good Morning Britain when asked about the inspiration for the album’s title.

“I’m enjoying life, I’m surrounded by lovely people,” she continues. “I love what I do and I poured a lot of that joy and celebration of years of experience of what I do, I’m so proud of it actually, so I was like, flip the script, Perimenopop here we come.”

To support the album’s release, Ellis-Bextor will hit the road for an EU tour that commences September 22nd in Milan, followed by a handful of North American dates that kick off October 27th in Los Angeles.
