In the two years that have elapsed since Yebba blessed the world with her inspired debut album Dawn (2021), the uber-gifted singer-songwriter has continued to captivate our attention. Her live performance with Lucky Daye of their modern classic “How Much Can A Heart Take” (originally featured on his GRAMMY-winning 2021 Table For Two EP) and her vocal contributions to “Over” from Robert Glasper’s GRAMMY-winning Black Radio III (2022) have more than whet our appetite for new solo material from the songstress.
Hence our unbridled delight in discovering that she has unveiled her new single ““Waterfall (I Adore You),” echoes of which were first heard on Drake’s latest album For All The Dogs, as sampled within the LP’s closing track “Polar Opposites.” With its lush, soulful ambience and Yebba’s arresting, assured voice on glorious display, the goosebump-inducing track makes our collective heart flutter faster for her forthcoming sophomore album, the details of which will hopefully be revealed soon enough.
