NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Jennifer Lopez’s “Can't Get Enough”

January 10, 2024 Albumism Staff
Jennifer Lopez Can't Get Enough

Anticipation for Jennifer Lopez’s forthcoming ninth studio album This Is Me…Now has been building for months and the momentum behind the LP receives another spark today in the form of the just-unveiled lead single “Can’t Get Enough.” Bolstered by its sampling of reggae/rocksteady pioneer Alton Ellis’ 1967 song “I’m Still in Love with You,” the buoyant single represents a sterling return to form for the pop music powerhouse.

Scheduled to be released February 16th, Lopez’s first studio album since 2014’s A.K.A. functions as the thematic sequel to her acclaimed 2002 long player This Is Me… Then, while offering a nod to the art of aging gracefully, something the multimedia star has mastered both personally and professionally. According to Lopez, the new album examines the “emotional, spiritual, and psychological journey she has taken over the past two decades.” The album’s release will be accompanied by the premiere of the Amazon Prime-exclusive documentary film This Is Me...Now: The Film, directed by Dave Meyers and featuring her husband Ben Affleck as a co-writer.
