Artist: Phonte
Song: “So Help Me God”
Album: No News Is Good News
Still commanding heavy rotation here at Albumism HQ three months after its release back in March, Phonte’s latest solo joint No News Is Good News is arguably one of the year’s most rewarding albums. At just 10 tracks and 33 minutes deep, Mr. Coleman’s second studio album represents a prime example of the power of quality over quantity when it comes to the art of crafting a long player.
If you haven’t indulged your ears with the sounds of this stellar LP, then allow the just-released, Chris Charles directed video for album highlight “So Help Me God” to be the gateway to discovering the rest of the album.
