By the time DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9” released PRhyme, they had already been collaborating for almost 15 years, with Primo lacing the Detroit lyricist with some of his choicest tracks. PRhyme is a further elevation of that partnership, and comes remarkably close to recapturing the chemistry of Gang Starr in their heyday. Rhyming over beats taken exclusively from samples of Adrian Younge, Royce demonstrates that he’s only gotten better as his career has progressed, and this now-official partnership was the beginning of something truly special.
