I’ll never shake my love for ‘80s-evoking synth pop. And, fortunately, many from my generation suffer the same affliction. But while I ebulliently sway and spin to its dreamy sounds, bands like Chromatics effortlessly mastermind the sublime grandeur behind the electronics. It seems everything the Portland-based band creates is imminently listenable and polished, but their fourth album Kill For Love consistently electrifies, lending just the right amount of melancholy to complicate the oft-stale dance floor.
