Just eight months since Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner delivered their second studio album Wall of Eyes (2024) back in late January of this year, the trio known as The Smile have returned to bless us with its follow-up effort Cutouts. Recorded between Oxford and London’s famed Abbey Road Studios during the same sessions that producer Sam Petts-Davies orchestrated for Wall of Eyes, the band’s third studio affair arrives following the release of the official singles "Don't Get Me Started"/"The Slip," "Foreign Spies"/"Zero Sum," and “Bodies Laughing.”

“I think we had one-and-a-half records when we decided to release Wall of Eyes, so it was simply about finishing a few of the other canvasses off,” Greenwood tells NME. There’s certainly no sense that these are leftovers: it’s just another record.”
