Amidst ever-present rumors of Oasis definitely maybe reuniting at some point in the future, the elder Gallagher brother’s band has released their fourth studio album Council Skies. Preceded by official singles “Pretty Boy,” “Easy Now,” “Dead to the World, the title track “Council Skies” and “Open the Door, See What You Find,” the follow-up to 2017’s Who Built the Moon? will be accompanied by a UK arena tour set to launch later this year. The album arrives in its standard format comprised of 11 songs and an expanded deluxe edition featuring 13 additional tracks including instrumental versions, remixes and live performances.
“It’s going back to the beginning,” Gallagher says of the album’s inspiration in an official statement. “Daydreaming, looking up at the sky and wondering about what life could be… that’s as true to me now as it was in the early ‘90s. When I was growing up in poverty and unemployment, music took me out of that. Top of the Pops on TV transformed your Thursday night into this fantasy world, and that’s what I think music should be. I want my music to be elevating and transforming in some way.”
