WELCOME BACK WAX: Seal’s Eponymous Debut Album ‘Seal’ Receives Deluxe Edition Treatment

October 9, 2022 Albumism Staff
Seal Eponymous Debut Album 1991 Reissue Deluxe Edition

Deservedly named British Album of the Year at the 1992 BRIT Awards ceremony among strong competition including Massive Attack’s Blue Lines (1991) and The KLF’s The White Room (1991), Seal’s self-titled debut album Seal (1991) formally announced a truly unique voice who took the music world by storm in the early to mid ‘90s. Propelled by the classic singles “Crazy,” “Killer” and “Future Love Paradise,” the London-born singer-songwriter’s inaugural long player was greeted with worldwide critical acclaim coupled with gold and platinum certifications in multiple countries.

Next month on November 4th, the album is set to re-emerge in remastered form in an expansive deluxe edition comprised of 2xLP vinyl and 4xCD replete with rare ”premix” versions, various remixes, and a previously unreleased live concert set originally captured at the Point Theatre in Dublin, Ireland on December 16, 1991. The package also includes a special 12x12 hardcover book featuring photos, reflections by album producer Trevor Horn (Belle and Sebastian, Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams), and liner notes by journalist Jim Farber.

You can order your copy and explore the complete track listing here. Listen to the original album and revisit the official videos below.
