Originally released in November 1997, Natalie Imbruglia’s debut album Left of the Middle not only took the pop world by storm upon its arrival, it also served as the harbinger of what has become one of the most rewarding—and arguably most underappreciated—recorded repertoires of the past quarter-century. As White Lilies Island (2001) and her most recent offering Firebird (2021) attest to, Left of the Middle may remain her most universally recognizable long player of her six delivered to date, but it simply represents the initial spark of the creative evolution that continues unabated twenty-five years on.
In celebration of the album’s imminent 25th anniversary, the good folks over at Music On Vinyl have curated a special transparent blue-colored, 180-gram audiophile vinyl reissue set to hit stores November 18th. Featuring the hit singles “Torn,” “Big Mistake,” “Wishing I Was There,” and “Smoke,” the limited-edition release will be available in the form of 2,500 individually numbered copies, so we advise that you promptly pre-order your copy here before supply invariably runs out.
