Sleater-Kinney Unveil Limited Edition ‘Dig Me Out’ 20th Anniversary Bundles

March 17, 2017 Justin Chadwick

Next month marks 20 years since indie-punk legends Sleater-Kinney released their critically acclaimed headrush of a third album, Dig Me Out. Though the Olympia, Washington-bred band had already released two stellar studio LPs in the form of their 1995 self-titled debut and 1996 follow-up effort Call the Doctor, it was 1997’s Dig Me Out that garnered substantially more widespread attention from critics and fans alike.

Though five more albums have followed culminating in their most recent project, 2015’s excellent No Cities to Love, Dig Me Out remains what many consider to be the cornerstone of their prolific discography. It was also the first album that featured the group’s longstanding drummer Janet Weiss, who joined forces with founding members Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker after the departure of original drummer Laura Macfarlane.

In conjunction with the album’s upcoming 20th anniversary, the band have announced a handful of limited edition bundles featuring various combinations of the 2014 vinyl reissue, an exclusive 19” x 25” commemorative poster and t-shirt with art by Molly Schiot, and a copy of the 33 1/3 Dig Me Out book by Jovana Babovic. Although the autographed versions of these bundles have apparently sold out with lightning quickness, the unsigned versions are still available to pre-order now prior to their official April 8th release date.
