WELCOME BACK WAX: Deluxe Reissue of Black Moon’s ‘Enta Da Stage’ Surfaces This Week

February 20, 2017 Justin Chadwick

“Suckers want to flow but they got no show / So I'ma grab the mic, flip a script, and leave ya stunned.”

When the sharp-tongued Buckshot delivered his commanding opening verse on Black Moon’s 1992 debut single and instant classic “Who Got the Props,” his prescient lines augured stunning sounds to come on the Brooklyn-bred trio’s debut long player, Enta Da Stage, released in October of the following year. Propelled by the winning combination of Buckshot’s lyrical dexterity and Da Beatminerz’ sonic wizardry, the album is a masterpiece from beginning to end and serves as the foundational blueprint for the Boot Camp Clik collective’s prolific discography.

In honor of Enta Da Stage’s enduring brilliance, Fat Beats will release an expansive, multi-format deluxe edition of the album this Friday, February 24th. Entitled Enta Da Stage: The Complete Edition, the meticulously compiled 6xLP/3xCD/3xCassette packages feature all of the album’s original tracks alongside instrumental versions, remixed cuts, and a special 18-page booklet that includes new interviews, extensive liner notes, and unreleased photos. The reissue can be purchased as a bundle with all three formats included or as separate vinyl, CD and cassette variants.

Treat yourself and/or your fellow hip-hop heads to this gift that will always keep on giving, and in the meantime, revisit some of Black Moon’s finest moments from the Enta Da Stage era below.
