Nearly three years since the arrival of Hate For Sale (2020), the Pretenders have returned with their new single “Let The Sun Come In,” a kinetic blast of their signature melodic, guitar-driven rock. The single represents the first offering from Chrissie Hynde and crew’s forthcoming twelfth studio album entitled Relentless, which will arrive in stores September 1st courtesy of Rhino Records and Parlophone.
“I enjoy seeing the various meanings and origins of a word,” Hynde says of the album’s title in an official statement. “And I liked the definition: ‘showing no abatement of intensity.’ So when it came to an album title, it seemed fitting. You know…to keep doing it. I think anyone in a band is constantly questioning if they should keep going. It starts as a youthful pursuit and eventually, it makes you wonder, why am I doing this? It’s the life of the artist. You never retire. You become relentless.”
In the buildup to the release of Relentless, the band will hit the road beginning this month for a UK and European tour that comprises a mix of headlining gigs, festival appearances and support dates with Guns N’ Roses.
