Tanika Charles has revealed that her fourth studio album Reasons To Stay is set to arrive May 16th courtesy of Record Kicks and the Toronto-based singer-songwriter has unveiled “Don’t Like You Anymore” as the project’s lead single, accompanied by its official video. An introspective anthem of self agency set atop a vibrant, vintage soul groove, the song finds the candid and confident Charles reclaiming her sense of self amidst an irrevocably fractured family connection.

“I know this will come across harsh to some, but this is an honest reflection of my relationship with my mother,” Charles confides in an official statement. “She was unavailable emotionally for me my entire upbringing, and eventually unavailable physically too. Now available to pre-order across multiple formats, Reasons To Stay follows her critically acclaimed albums Soul Run (2016), The Gumption (2019) and Papillon de Nuit: The Night Butterfly (2022).
