Later this year, we’ll celebrate the 25th anniversary of the seminal debut album Who Can You Trust? (1996), which formally introduced the world to the musical brilliance of the genre-blurring Morcheeba. But before founding members Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey mark this milestone, they’ll focus on their latest in a series of notable career achievements with the release of their tenth studio affair Blackest Blue.

Due to arrive May 14th, the follow-up to 2018’s Blaze Away was crafted during the pandemic-stunted 2020, which afforded Edwards and Godfrey “time to write songs and really get to hone them,” as the latter explains in an official statement. “There weren’t so many pressures, so we could really take our time getting the songs right,” Edwards adds.

Blackest Blue is preceded by the arresting, atmospheric lead single “Sounds Of Blue” and its accompanying video, which is included for your listening and viewing pleasure below.
