Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay of Tunng delivered an unanticipated gem of an album three years ago, when they united their respective creative powers as LUMP and released their eponymous debut album LUMP in June 2018. Thankfully for us, their collaboration has resumed in the form of their new single “Animal,” which serves as the first offering and title track from their forthcoming second studio affair of the same name, due in stores July 30th.

“LUMP is the repository for so many things that I’ve had in my mind and just don’t fit anywhere in that way,” Marling explains in an official statement, one year removed from the release of her Mercury Prize nominated album Song For Our Daughter (2020). “They don’t have to totally make narrative sense, but weirdly they end up making narrative sense in some way.”

Watch the official video for “Animal” below and pre-order Animal via LUMP’s official store.
