NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Lucy Rose’s “Scared of Loving Wild Again”

January 17, 2026 Albumism Staff
Lucy Rose Scared of Loving Wild Again

Nearly two years since Lucy Rose released her critically acclaimed fifth studio album This Ain’t the Way You Go Out, the UK singer-songwriter has unveiled her introspective new single “Scared of Loving Wild Again.” Co-written by Leif Vollebekk, produced by Gabe Simon and recorded in New York City, the song embodies Rose’s signature lyrical candor and emotional vulnerability.

“I had been thinking about the lyric and idea, of how it feels to love someone truly, love them wildly, and why in doing that we can end up feeling vulnerable ourselves, as we open ourselves up to all encompassing love, what comes with that, is a whole lot of pain,” Rose confides in an official statement. “Enter the room, the super talented Leif Vollebekk. I speak out my thoughts to him, “what comes with wild love, wild pain”…. I asked if he understood what I was trying to percolate, he nodded and I found my partner for writing this song with.”
