Just as we were beginning to feel a bit bogged down by the work week and an out-of-control inbox that runneth over, we’ve perked right up with the always welcome revelation of new music from the lovely Lucy Rose. A year and change since she unveiled her fourth studio album No Words Left (2019), he acclaimed singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist has blessed our ears with two stunning new compositions in the form of the shimmering “Question It All” and atmospheric, largely instrumental “White Car.”

Rose recorded both songs toward the end of 2019 but opted not to release them immediately. “It was only while in lockdown that I revisited these two new songs and I heard them in a completely different way,” she explains in an official statement. “The fact that they weren’t so on the nose lyrically, the abstract quality of the music really helped me escape my own thoughts and I enjoyed them as pieces of music. I felt connected to them musically and lyrically, it’s almost like a whole different meaning came to life.”

Watch the fan-made, lockdown inspired video for “Question It All” and listen to “White Car” below.
