If there’s ever been a time that calls for peace, love and understanding in the world, that time is most definitely now. Hence why we’re thrilled to share the timely and thoroughly endearing new cover of Nick Lowe’s 1974 single by Sharon Van Etten and Josh Homme. The duo’s cover recently appeared in the Hulu series The Great and today marks the arrival of the official Matthew Siskin directed video, which offers a snapshot into Van Etten and Homme’s homebound existence, replete with cameo appearances by Lowe and Zach Dawes.

“When the opportunity arose to sing with (Sharon), I jumped at it,” Homme explains in an official statement. “This was of course before we had any idea that the world would be going into hiding for months. Recording this song had nothing to do with what we’d be going through...until we started going through it. In these times, it’s a blessing to feel lucky even for a moment...and I feel lucky to have been able to work with Sharon, Zach Dawes, (Queens of the Stone Age’s) Michael Shuman, Matthew Siskin and our families.

Watch the video for “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?” below and be sure to also mark May 29th in your calendars for Van Etten’s special livestream concert celebrating the 11th anniversary of her debut album Because I Was In Love (2009).
