Two months ago, Liz Phair blessed us with another taste of her forthcoming seventh studio album Soberish in the form of second single “Hey Lou” (the follow-up to the previously unveiled “Good Side”), and today the acclaimed singer-songwriter has additional news to share. A rumination on how the dissolution of love can throw one’s life and identity into chaos, the buoyant third single “Spanish Doors” has emerged, accompanied by new details about the album. Comprised of 13 songs produced by Phair’s longtime collaborator Brad Wood, the long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s Funstyle—and her debut LP for Chrysalis Records—is slated to make landfall June 4th.

“I found my inspiration for Soberish by delving into an early era of my music development, my art school years spent listening to Art Rock and New Wave music non-stop on my Walkman,” Phair explains in an official statement. “The English Beat, The Specials, Madness, R.E.M.’s Automatic for the People, Yazoo, the Psychedelic Furs, Talking Heads, Velvet Underground, Laurie Anderson, and the Cars. The city came alive for me as a young person, the bands in my headphones lending me the courage to explore.”

Enjoy the visuals for “Spanish Doors” below and be sure to mark June 4th in your calendars for Soberish’s much-anticipated arrival.

UPDATE (4/30): Watch the just-unveiled official video for “Spanish Doors” below.
