NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Låpsley’s “Womxn”

February 4, 2020 Albumism Staff

While January was a relatively quiet month on the new music front, it’s fair to say that the floodgates are beginning to open here in early February. Today we’ve received the wonderful news that four years removed from her excellent debut LP Long Way Home (2016), Låpsley is set to unveil her follow-up long player Through Water on March 20th via XL Recordings. The UK singer-songwriter has also shared the inspiring new video for “Womxn,” which follows the previously released tracks “My Love Was Like the Rain” and “Ligne 3.”

“I was 20 and in a pretty bad place when I wrote ‘Womxn,’” she explains via her Twitter feed. “It’s written hypothetically from a place in the future that was more positive. It’s about having trust in the passage of time; about not knowing what to do but knowing that at some point you will.”

Watch the videos for “Womxn” and “My Love Was Like the Rain” below.
