NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Kandace Springs’ “Don’t Need The Real Thing”

August 4, 2018 Albumism Staff

Artist: Kandace Springs
Song: “Don’t Need The Real Thing”
Album: Indigo (due in stores September 7th)

Two years have elapsed since Kandace Springs blessed the world with her debut album Soul Eyes (2016), and we’ve been craving new music from the velvet-voiced singer-songwriter-pianist in the interim. Thankfully, our impatience has been rewarded with the recent unveiling of the sublime “Don’t Need The Real Thing,” the Karriem Riggins and Jimmy Harry co-produced lead single from her forthcoming second studio album Indigo.

Currently finishing up her supporting slot on Daryl Hall & John Oates’ tour on the west coast, we can’t wait for Indigo to arrive on September 7th courtesy of Blue Note Records, and we’re also looking forward to catching her during her headlining tour which kicks off September 28th in Phoenix. Until then, we’ll just need to indulge in “Don’t Need The Real Thing,” the video for which can be enjoyed below.
