Three decades on from his breakout moment courtesy of the When Harry Met Sally (1989) Soundtrack, the multi-dimensionally talented multimedia legend Harry Connick, Jr. has announced that his forthcoming album True Love: A Celebration of Cole Porter is slated to arrive October 25th. The next offering in what has proven to be an impressively prolific career and his first album recorded for the iconic Verve Records label, True Love showcases Connick’s close connection to and reverence for the Great American Songbook legacy of Cole Porter, one of the most accomplished composers and songwriters in music history.

“This is the first time I’ve taken a deep dive into another artist’s repertoire, and Cole Porter was my #1 choice for the project,” Connick explains in an official statement. “His lyrics are witty and nuanced and he takes risks as a composer that I find appealing.”

True Love is preceded by the lead single “Just One Of Those Things,” a timeless standard that Porter originally wrote for the 1935 musical production Jubilee. Connick’s interpolation of the classic tune is indeed a truly jubilant jaunt, as it shuffles and swings with an invigorating energy.
