NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Angel Olsen’s “All Mirrors”

The first half of 2019 produced an impressive crop of new albums, but it appears that the latter half of the year may prove to be even stronger overall. Aiding this conjecture is Angel Olsen’s recent announcement that her fourth studio album All Mirrors will make landfall October 4th. The hauntingly beautiful, synth-heavy lead single and title track “All Mirrors” reflects a new, darker sonic direction to come on the forthcoming full-length affair, the follow-up to 2016’s critically lauded My Woman.

In describing the album via a recent press statement, Olsen explains, “In every way—from the making of it, to the words, to how I feel moving forward—this record is about owning up to your darkest side, finding the capacity for new love and trusting change even when you feel like a stranger.”
