Rightfully revered as one of the most prolific and inventive musical visionaries of the past 30 years, Damon Albarn’s songs are seldom, if ever, anything short of inspired. After cementing his legacy through his remarkable repertoire with Blur, Gorillaz and The Good, the Bad & the Queen, the multi-dimensionally gifted singer-songwriter-instrumentalist formally flew solo with his wonderful 2014 album Everyday Robots. Now, seven years on and newly signed to Transgressive Records, Albarn has announced that his second self-crafted affair is set to make landfall later this year.

Due for release on November 12th, The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows “explores themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth” and “vividly documents the emotional ebb and flow of the human condition, in all its extremes, serving as a soul enriching document for our times” according to an official press statement. The album promises to be one of the year’s more intriguing listening experiences and it’s preceded by the recently unveiled title track and just-released second single “Polaris.” Watch the official lyric video for the former and enjoy a special live performance of the latter below, as you circle November 12th in your calendar.
