Artist: Angel Olsen
Album: Big Time
Label: Jagjaguwar
Released: June 3, 2022

Angel Olsen has unveiled her sixth studio album Big Time, the successor to 2020’s Whole New Mess and 2019’s All Mirrors, which captured the #1 spot in Albumism’s list of 2019’s Best Albums. Co-produced by Olsen and Jonathan Wilson, the powerful Big Time is a more Country-influenced record than its precursors and features a heightened emotional depth within her evocative lyricism, inspired by the recent passing of both of her parents, as well as the dissolution of her first queer relationship.

“The artists who I know who have had interesting lives or stories have also had a lot of hardship and a lot of change and a lot of adventure—I feel like I can relate to that,” Olsen recently told The New Yorker. “Something happens, and then you chisel your way through it, and then art is made. But it doesn’t always feel artistic. It feels like survival mode.”

Listen to Big Time below, watch the accompanying Kimberly Stuckwisch directed short film and official videos, and let us know what you think of the album in the comments section below!
