With every release, Radiohead manage to embrace you in the familiar and challenge you with something new. A Moon Shaped Pool is no exception. With musical moments of panic and anxiety building progressions, the album reverberates your emotions into spikey peaks. There’s a strong sense of tension that’s sustained throughout songs like “Burn The Witch” and “Full Stop” that will suddenly give way to more calming moments in “Daydreamer” and “Present Tense” and the majestic “True Love Waits.” Radiohead have always experimented with song structure, arrangement and instrumentation and A Moon Shaped Pool ensures your ears are constantly piqued for what comes next. A standout album of 2016.
