Australia’s Hiatus Kaiyote used a vast blend of organics and electronics to cultivate the rich sounds on their sophomore set. The intricate lyrics from lead singer and guitarist Nai Palm are equally boundless, effortlessly evoking Hayao Miyazaki, Atari, and the Swamp Thing in and around songs about love, loss, and self-reflection. The result is an infinitely replayable and incredibly cohesive collection of sweetly unpredictable jams that few other bands could pull off.
