DJ Quik is one of the architects of the G-Funk sound. His legacy in hip-hop was set in the '90s, but years later, Quik still had the skill and dedication to craft another great album. Rosecrans is a sonically rich album, with production that displays the musicianship that's stood out in all of Quik's prior work. His voice and delivery remain sharp, and his partner in rhyme does more than hold his weight. Problem turns in some of his most impressive rhymes and hooks, embracing the challenge of rapping with a legend.
