Lily Allen has unveiled her fifth studio album West End Girl, which marks her first collection of new songs since her most recent long player No Shame arrived seven years ago. The 14-track album finds Allen examining the recent dissolution of her marriage to actor David Harbour with notable candor and bold lyricism.

“I made this record in December 2024, and it was a way for me to process what was happening in my life,” Allen explains to Vogue. “There are things that are on the record that I experienced within my marriage, but that’s not to say that it’s all gospel. It is inspired by what went on in the relationship.”

In the interim period between releasing No Shame and recording West End Girl, Allen successfully expanded her career to the stage. She appeared in the acclaimed theatre production 2:22 A Ghost Story which premiered in London’s West End in 2021 and for which she received a Laurence Olivier award nomination for Best Actress.
