We are thrilled to announce that DC Hendrix is the newest member of our ever-growing Albumism family! An ambitious and passionate music lover, DC is sure to help us advance our mission of celebrating the albums our team—and the broader global Albumism community—hold close to our hearts.

“I love listening to albums that tell a story,” DC confides. “Which is why I’m very excited to be joining such a talented staff with Albumism. I’m looking forward to diving deep into albums I haven’t heard in a long time, while simultaneously discovering new music.”

We encourage the Albumism community to stay tuned for much more from DC, and in the meantime, check out his recently published debut Albumism article, a wonderful 25th Anniversary tribute to Nirvana’s live album From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah (1996).

More about DC:

DC Hendrix was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is currently a Program Director for MIX 106 Today’s Fresh Mix of R&B and Old School in South Bend, Indiana. Ever since he was a kid, DC has always been extremely passionate about all genres of music. Most of the music he discovered growing up was through his father. When it came to learning about new musicians and bands, DC would get educated by his father’s record collection.

Deep down, he always knew he would work in the music industry in some capacity. He wanted to do it all—write about music, talk about it, and especially play it on the radio. One thing he always wanted growing up was to have his own record collection. After receiving a record player as a Christmas gift in 2019, DC now has over 200 vinyl records and counting.

DC’s music taste spans across all genres. From The Beatles to The Temptations. Elvis to Michael Jackson (he prefers the Jackson Five music more). Even something else like kicking back to some Dean Martin every once in a while? Asking for a friend. His all-time favorites include Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Rick James, The Beatles, and Nirvana. If you ask him his favorites tomorrow, some on his all-time favorites list could be subject to change. There’s just so much different music he loves.
