With a slew of dates opening for Oasis during their forthcoming reunion tour on the near horizon, Richard Ashcroft has unveiled his new single “Lover.” The Verve co-founder’s first new original music to see the light of day since his 2018 Natural Rebel LP, the uplifting “Lover” incorporates elements of Joan Armatrading’s 1976 single “Love and Affection.” Ashcroft’s most recent official release was 2021’s Acoustic Hymns Vol 1 featuring stripped-down renditions of the songs from The Verve’s Mercury Prize-nominated, BRIT Award-winning album Urban Hymns (1997).

Complemented by a handful of headlining and festival dates throughout the spring and summer, Ashcroft’s opening slot on Oasis’ tour commences July 4th in Cardiff and includes multiple dates in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin through late September.
