NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Raphael Saadiq’s “Glory To The Veins” Featuring Ernest Turner

The wait is nearly over. The wait for Raphael Saadiq’s forthcoming fifth studio album (his first LP in more than eight years), that is. One of the year’s most hotly anticipated long players slated to arrive August 23rd, Jimmy Lee is preceded by two singles, the previously released “Something Keeps Calling” and the just-unveiled “Glory To The Veins.”

Auguring a thrilling new sonic and lyrical direction for Mr. Saadiq, the palpably dark and foreboding “Glory To The Veins” is a brief listen clocking in at just north of two minutes, but its ominous beauty leaves a lasting impression.
