NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Michaela Anne’s “Who You Are”

February 19, 2022 Albumism Staff

Two-and-a-half years on from the release of her acclaimed third studio album Desert Dove (2019), Michaela Anne has shared “Who You Are,” a poignant reflection that examines the intrinsic selflessness of love, inspired by the guidance and wisdom that her mother has imparted to her.

“I think a life of searching and questioning is one of value because you’re seeking lessons and knowledge,” the Nashville-based singer-songwriter-musician explained during our 2019 interview. “And what better way to do that than by creating something that you put out into the world that can connect with others and lead to more stories, questions and lessons.”

Though news of her next album is still forthcoming, she is set to hit the road this spring for twelve tour dates with The Milk Carton Kids. Speaking from experience, her stage show is not to be missed, so be sure to catch her performance if she swings through your town.

In the meantime, enjoy the official video for “Who You Are” below.
