Laura Veirs has announced that her tenth studio album entitled The Lookout will arrive in stores April 13th courtesy of Raven Marching Band Records. The follow-up to 2013’s wonderful Warp and Weft, not to mention her dynamic 2016 case/lang/veirs collaboration with her kindred musical spirits Neko Case and k.d. lang, The Lookout features production by her husband Tucker Martine and guest vocals by Sufjan Stevens and Jim James.

Veirs is also slated to hit the road for an 8-date US tour that commences May 18th in Seattle, followed by a 12-date run overseas that includes gigs in Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and a handful of UK locales.

“The Lookout is about the need to pay attention to the fleeting beauty of life and to not be complacent; it’s about the importance of looking out for each other,” Veirs explains in an official statement. “I’m addressing what’s happening around me with the chaos of post-election America, the racial divides in our country, and a personal reckoning with the realities of midlife: I have friends who’ve died; I struggle with how to balance life as an artist with parenting young children.”
