Lalah Hathaway has unveiled the powerful “Poison + The Cure” as the latest offering—and one of two brand new songs—from her forthcoming remix album VANTABLACK: EXPANSION PACK. Due for arrival July 18th, the album follows last year’s VANTABLACK (2024) and features fourteen reimagined tracks from her GRAMMY Award-nominated eighth studio album.

“Reimagining music has always been at the core of my artistic journey,” Hathaway explains in an official statement. “This project is a heartfelt tribute to the transformative power of the REMIX, and a celebration of the timelessness of great SONGS!”

In his Albumism review of VANTABLACK, Mark Chappelle called the album “an odyssey of urban alternative, dance, and progressive jazz affirming life, love, and the embodiment of Hathaway’s full spectrum of being,” adding that it '“may be her most accessible album to date and its influences are multitudinous.” VANTABLACK ranked #3 in Albumism’s year-end list of 2024’s best albums.
