NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: L7’s “Burn Baby”

March 1, 2019 Albumism Staff

Artist: L7
Song: “Burn Baby”
Album: Scatter The Rats (Due in stores May 3rd)

Further proving the validity of the old adage that suggests good things come to those who wait, the acclaimed rock goddesses L7 have revealed plans to release their first album in nearly 20 years. Set to arrive in stores May 3rd courtesy of their fellow rock deity Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records, Scatter The Rats is the Los Angeles based band’s seventh studio affair and the long-awaited follow-up to 1999’s Slap-Happy.

“I think it’s good for people to enjoy a meat-and-potatoes rock band for a change,” Donita Sparks declares in an official statement. “We’re not rocket science, we’re rock & roll. And there’s value to that, and we do it pretty well. So if you want to rock, come on back to L7.”

Check out the video for the propulsive first single “Burn Baby,” a radiant return that reinforces that the foursome still have their signature fire and guitar-driven fury gloriously intact.
