Four weeks from today on April 15th, Jewel will release her thirteenth LP entitled Freewheelin’ Woman courtesy of her own Words Matter Music imprint and the acclaimed singer-songwriter has now unveiled the project’s second single, “Long Way ‘Round.” A spirited, soulful slice of Americana that showcases Jewel’s expansive vocal range amidst prominent brass flourishes, the song’s arrival follows the recently released lead offering “Dancing Slow,” her collaboration with Train, whom she’ll tour with this summer, beginning June 8th in Mansfield, MA.

“'Long Way ‘Round" is a song about overcoming something difficult, even if it requires getting lost or taking the longer way around,” Jewel explains in an official statement. “I'm celebrating some of the things I've overcome as well as the choices I've made that have brought me to where I am today. The heart and mind are powerful muscles that are always willing to adapt and grow when you let them."

Listen to “Long Way ‘Round” below and be sure to mark April 15th in your calendar.
