NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Jessie Ware’s “Ooh La La”

When Jessie Ware released “Spotlight”—the luscious lead single from her forthcoming fourth studio album What’s Your Pleasure? due June 19th—back in late February, most of us were still going about our normal day-to-day business and lives, blissfully (or naively) unknowing of the global crisis that loomed on the near horizon. Fast forward nearly two months, and we’re stuck inside, sheltering in place, uncertain of what our future looks like, and seeking reassurance wherever we can find it.

While we don’t quite know what the path forward looks like at this point, one thing is constant and clear: music continues to offer sanctuary for our weary souls. And we’re willing to bet that you’ll find sweet release upon indulging your ears in the 3 minutes and 48 seconds of bass-infused, ‘80s inspired soul-funk brilliance of Ware’s new single “Ooh La La.”

The magnificent Ms. Ware has built quite the proven track record of excellence with her first three studio affairs (2012’s Devotion, 2014’s Tough Love and 2017’s Glasshouse) and if its two initial offerings are any indication, What’s Your Pleasure? is destined to extend her musical mystique a few thrilling steps further.
