Artist: Harry Styles
Album: Harry’s House
Label: Columbia/Erskine
Released: May 20, 2022

The past five years have been a whirlwind period of productivity and seemingly predestined solo career ascendancy for Mr. Styles, who has now released three albums of high-class pop dating back to 2017’s inaugural, eponymous solo affair Harry Styles. The widely lauded follow-up effort Fine Line (2019) upped both the commercial and critical ante for the global phenom, rightfully nabbing BRIT and GRAMMY award nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, respectively.

Don’t be surprised if Styles’ newly unveiled third LP Harry’s House transforms those nominations into clear-cut triumphs at next year’s ceremonies. Unquestionably his most lyrically incisive and thematically introspective work of his still-blossoming career (the “house” in its title arguably a metaphor for Styles’ mind), the kaleidoscopic Harry’s House also represents his most expansive and engaging project sonically, owing to the multiple strains of modern pop that coexist and captivate throughout its thirteen compositions.

“Finally, it doesn't feel like my life is over if this album isn't a commercial success,“ Styles explained to Better Homes & Gardens last month. “I just want to make stuff that is right, that is fun, in terms of the process, that I can be proud of for a long time, that my friends can be proud of, that my family can be proud of, that my kids will be proud of one day.“

Styles may not have achieved his artistic apex just yet, but Harry’s House unequivocally pushes him a giant step closer to realizing that milestone and we’re all ears.
