NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Harry Styles’ “As It Was”

Harry Styles has revealed that his third studio album, Harry’s House, is set to make landfall May 20th. Recorded in the UK, Los Angeles and Tokyo over the past few years, the 13-track follow-up to Styles’ acclaimed 2019 album Fine Line will arrive a few weeks prior to its creator embarking upon the Love On Tour, which kicks off June 11th in Glasgow and will feature Mitski, Arlo Parks and Wolf Alice on the bill for select dates.

The first taste of Harry’s House arrives in the form of its shimmering, synth-pop driven lead single “As It Was,” which finds Styles candid and reflective, as he sings, “Answer the phone / ‘Harry, you're no good alone / Why are you sitting at home on the floor? / What kind of pills are you on?’ / Ringin’ the bell / And nobody’s coming to help / Your daddy lives by himself / He just wants to know that you’re well, oh-oh-oh.”
