NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: George Michael’s “This Is How (We Want You To Get High)”

This is an incredibly bittersweet moment for anyone who loves George Michael. The release of the new, unearthed single “This Is How (We Want You To Get High)” and the not-so-subtle reminder that this legendary artist is no longer with us. The single also coincides with the upcoming cinematic release of Last Christmas, a film inspired by the music of George Michael and Wham.

Delicious disco beats intertwined with a Latin-like vibe, “This Is How” not only highlights Michael’s beautiful and soulful vocals, but it also pays homage to his songwriting gifts. Given that the song was recorded back in 2015, in what would be Michael’s final recording sessions, one can’t help but wonder what final direction he would have taken the track in. Either way, we have been gifted with another George Michael track and that in itself is a truly beautiful thing.
