NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Emily Weisband’s “New Salt”

The past three months have been a busy stretch, to say the least, for Emily Weisband, with the release of her excellent Not Afraid to Say Goodbye EP in November and the arrival of its stripped-down companion a few weeks ago.

Luckily for the GRAMMY-winning, Nashville-based singer-songwriter’s growing legion of loyal listeners, her productive streak continues unabated today with the unveiling of her latest single “New Salt,” a melodic, emotive kiss-off to an insensitive ex who possesses a penchant for “putting new salt in an old wound” as she proclaims in the song’s powerful chorus.

We suspect that “New Salt” is just the first taste of much more new music to come from Weisband as the year progresses. But in the meantime, we strongly encourage you to check out the song’s official video below and join us in spreading the word far and wide about this gifted artist whose career trajectory is pointing squarely upward.
