NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Dido’s “Friends”

December 22, 2018 Albumism Staff

Artist: Dido
Song: “Friends”
Album: Still On My Mind (due in stores March 8th)

Next week, with 2018 nearly in our collective rearview mirror, our staff will turn a more discerning—and eager—eye toward the new albums slated to surface in the new year. Undoubtedly, and on the strength of its divine first two singles, Dido’s forthcoming fifth long player entitled Still On My Mind will be very much on our minds as we compose our 2019 preview.

The follow-up to the recently unveiled, slow-burning lead track “Hurricanes,” the notably more uptempo, but no less lush “Friends” harks back to Ms. Armstrong’s halcyon days as a key vocal force within her brother Rollo’s revered, dancefloor-filling band Faithless. And based on the irresistible allure of these initial offerings, we can’t wait to hear much more from the new LP, due in stores March 8th.

Dido has also revealed plans for a spring European and North American tour—her first time hitting the road in 15 years—that kicks off May 5th, with the full schedule of dates here.
