NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘The Space Program’

July 2, 2018 Albumism Staff

Artist: A Tribe Called Quest
Song: “The Space Program”
Album: We Got It From Here...Thank You 4 Your Service | Review

Nearly two years since A Tribe Called Quest dropped their swan song LP We Got It From Here...Thank You 4 Your Service in the fall of 2016, the legendary group have now shared their last visual hurrah in the form of the epic, eight-minute video for album cut “The Space Program” via YouTube. Billed as Tribe’s “final music video” and previously released exclusively through Apple Music, the Warren Fu directed clip is dedicated to the memory of the late Phife Dawg and features brief guest appearances by Erykah Badu, Black Thought, Common, Rosario Dawson, Alicia Keys, Talib Kweli, Janelle Monáe, Anderson .Paak, Questlove, and Pharrell Williams, among others.

Though A Tribe Called Quest’s indelible musical legacy was cemented a long time ago and will endure for eternity, this video offers a welcome opportunity to bid a final farewell to the fantastic foursome.
